One person told me that the value of the houses will increase if the road was public. I disagree. The value of the houses would increase, however, if we had a private road that was in good shape.
On the other hand, trying to sell your house over the next 3-4 years with a betterment charge at $150 per foot of frontage hanging over a potential home-buyer's head will hurt the market value of the houses. Not to mention the increase assessed value that will surely result from Stark Road becoming public.
