Stark Road

Recently the City Council voted to approve the conversion of Stark Road from a private to public street, although both votes were in opposition.  Although I believe this road needs upgrades, my mother and I feel that a cost a $150 per linear foot is very high.  .

Consider this.   Each side of the street pays $150 per feet so the actual cost is $300 per feet.   This is a complete waste of money by the residents of Stark Road to pay.   We can fill all the the potholes and make the road much better at a tenth of this cost.

There are many private streets in the City of Worcester, that raise money from the property owners and then each Spring repair any holes that were created over the winter.     Close by, I believe Tory Fort Lane is one, but there are many others.

Our hope is that we are able to do this exact thing with Stark Road and that is the reason for the creation of this blog.
